What To Expect During A Mediumship Reading

I often begin my readings by asking, “How are you feeling?”
It might seem like an odd way to start a session focused on connecting with the Spirit world—but there’s a really important reason behind it.
When we don’t talk openly about something, fear tends to fill in the gaps. That’s especially true with mediumship. Many people come into a session carrying anxiety, uncertainty, or preconceived ideas shaped by TV shows, ghost stories, or dramatic portrayals of seances and haunted houses.
But here’s the truth: a mediumship reading is far more grounded and heart-centered than spooky.
Which brings me back to why I ask about your feelings before we begin. Because if you're walking in with nerves or fear, I want to help ease those right away. Spirit doesn’t come through to scare us. Our loved ones in Spirit want to support us on our life’s journey. They come with love, not fear.
During a reading, you’ll receive evidence of who’s coming forward—memories, personality traits, shared experiences, names, special dates—so you’ll know exactly who’s with us.
And often, they bring a piece of their personality, too. A husband who was always cracking jokes may remind you of a silly prank. A child may bring up playful memories at the beach. It’s their way of saying, “I’m still me.”
Once we’ve established who’s present, they’ll share a message just for you. Sometimes, that message is tucked inside the evidence itself. Other times, it’s more direct. A structured, dependable grandfather might encourage you to bring more stability into your life. A sister who always laughed may remind you to seek joy again.
The wisdom our loved ones gained in life doesn’t disappear—it expands. And they share that wisdom with us from the other side.
But what if the person you hoped would come through… doesn’t?
Please know this: it doesn’t mean they’re not with you. It may simply mean someone else had a more urgent message that needed to come through first. The Spirit world doesn’t operate on our schedule—but they do operate from love. They know what we need, even when we don’t. And some of the most meaningful readings aren’t always what we expected… but exactly what our soul needed.
So, if you’re thinking about having a reading, try not to approach it with fear. Yes, there may be tears—but there’s also laughter, warmth, and moments of deep peace when we reconnect with our loved ones.
Mediumship is, at its core, about love that endures beyond the physical.
And every session is a reminder: your loved ones are still with you.
